INGREDIENTS
Tuna—
- 1 tuna steak
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
Lettuce Cups—
- Lettuce leaves
- 1 cucumber, diced or sliced thinly
- Pickled ginger
Wasabi Aioli—
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp wasabi paste (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
INSTRUCTIONS
Prepare the wasabi aioli. Mix mayonnaise, wasabi paste, and lemon juice in a small bowl. Adjust the wasabi to your preferred spice level.
Sear the tuna. Heat a pan over high heat. Lightly coat the tuna steak with sesame oil. Sear for about 30–45 seconds per side, keeping the center rare. Remove from heat and slice thinly.
Season the tuna. Toss sliced tuna gently with soy sauce and a small drizzle of sesame oil.
Assemble the lettuce cups. Fill lettuce leaves with cucumber and pickled ginger. Top with seared tuna slices and drizzle with wasabi aioli. Finish with sesame seeds, green onions, or chili flakes if desired.
